BMW manufacturer had every initial intention of exporting the BMW 507 to the U.S a rate of thousands per year.

However, this went out the window due to the 507’s hefty price tag. This resulted in a total production of 252 cars over three years.

With these unexpected poor results, BMW saw some heavy losses with the 507.

In saying this, the car itself was well worth every penny, even if that meant not many people could afford to purchase, this vehicle was certainly a good investment, especially for those who own one in 2017.

The development of the BMW 507 all started with the idea of filling in the gap between the expensive Mercedes-Benz 300SL and the cheap underpowered Triumph and MG sports car.

Did the BMW achieve this? That can be arguable, considering it was still ranked in the expensive mark…

Regardless of its fruitless attempt to have a stab at the U.S market, the BMW 507 remains a milestone model for its attractive styling.

Only 202 BMW 507’s are known to survive to this day, a tribute to the car’s appeal for classic car enthusiasts.

With several notable owners, the King of rock and roll, Elvis Presley, was the proud owner of his super famous 507 ride.
