Last week, we were lucky to attend Mercedes-Benz 130th birthday, as the world’s oldest carmaker, celebrated at Motorclassica 2016, Melbourne.
Let me tell you – this was quite the birthday celebration!
From amazing cars, to meeting celebrities, test-driving, and revealing the new Mercedes-Benz, this car event was what every car lover lives for.
Mercedes-Benz staged the Australian debut of it magnificent brand new S 65 Cabriolet, worth more than half a million dollars!
But what an amazing car – you really cant fault a single thing.
Powered by a hand-built twin turbo, 6.0 litre V12 that generates an unbelievable 463kW and 1000Nm!
Nothing speaks lavish like a beautifully designed car with the power and guts behind it, and boy this was a showstopper!
Ultimately Motorclassica is a classic car motor show that brings car enthusiasts, classic collectors and anyone who enjoys the motoring lifestyle with some of the most unique cars on display.
This is a real WOW event with so many amazing automobiles and some of the world’s most prestigious, rare classic cars.
The event had over 115 collectable, pristine veteran, classic, exotic road and race-cars on display that made your jaw drop.
Chad McQueen, the son of Mr Cool, Steve McQueen, is the ambassador for Motorclassica, and we were fortunate enough to meet and greet him at the event.
Standing loud and proud next to the new S 65 Cabriolet was the 1970 Mercedes-Benz 280 SE 3.5 Cabriolet.
Legend has it that only 71 of these rare classics were developed and only 7 were shipped to Australia.
Both the classic and new Cabriolets put together are valued at over $1 million!
Here are some eye-catching photographs of the event that were provided to us by Mercedes-Benz Australia.
