Engine and transmission
The Mercedes-Benz 230 SV Sport’s engine is naturally aspirated petrol, 2.3 litres, and side valve 6 cylinders with 2 valves per cylinder.
The cylinder bore was increased by one millimetre, which gave rise to an average increase in engine size to 2289cc.
This beauty came in four standard body types – the four-door six “limousine”, and three different cabriolet bodied cars with two or four seats, along with the option of four doors with the four-seat cabriolet.
It is claimed to achieve a maximum speed of 125 km/h (78 mph).
